Meet the Staff

Dr. Jonathan Roberts, Director

As an associate professor of pschology, Dr. Roberts specializes in developmental cognitive neurscience. He joined the Honors program last year as a co-director and is enjoying his first year as the director of the program. Dr. Roberts was named to "Who's Who Among American Teachers,' has organized groups for Habitat for Humanity, and has recieved a certificate of appreciation from the American Red Cross for encouraging students to donate blood. Dr. Roberts splits time betwen the Honors office located in Solms 101 (344-3242) and his psychology office located in Science Center room 221 (344-2762). You can reach him by email at Jonathan.Roberts@armstrong.edu. In additoin to psychology and Honors, Dr. Roberts is a proud father, husband, and also engages in automobile racing and instruction. He'll always be up for a good talk about sports cars!

 

Sherry Cortes, Executive Coordinator and Student Liaison

Having graduated in the spring of 2005 from Kenyon College, Sherry Cortes comes to us after a year working as an Administrative Assistant at the Asia Society in New York City. Sherry is also the assistant to Dr. Finlay, Assistant Dean for the College of Arts and Sciences, so for most of the week you can find her in Solms 109. If you need to contact her for any reason, she is available at either (912) 344-2759 or by email at Sherry.Cortes@armstrong.edu . In addition to loving her job at Armstrong, Sherry is an avid history, art, Asian, and political enthusiast, so please feel free to strike up a conversation including any or all of those topics!

 

Lauren Caines, Student Worker

Lauren originally started working for the Honors Program in Fall 2006. She assists Dr. Roberts with administration, including keeping the database and the listserve current. Lauren is happy to assist students when Dr. Roberts is unavailable. She is also willing to help students choose courses if they need assistance planning their schedule. Her office is in Solms 101B (344-3242) and she can be reached by email at lc8070@students.armstrong.edu. In addition to her involvement with the Honors Program, Lauren is a proud aunt and a busy nursing student!
